I’ve been reading Ken Gerhard’s The Essential Guide to Bigfoot as research, but it was really this piece of artwork — I almost said photo! — that really inspired the character of Till, in The Bigfoot’s Mate.

Till is a big guy at about 7 feet tall. He’s strong and hairy and doesn’t talk much. He’s a vegetarian, crafter, and has an eye for repurposing just about anything. The local wildlife know he’ll help them out if they’re hurt.
And he’s also willing to take an injured man home with him and help him heal despite humans being the one thing he actively avoids.
Basically, Till is a big softie.
And he’s lonely.
I’m really looking forward to all of you getting to know Till in the next few months. More updates soon!
